Dear Members, I wanted to share a quick overview of what’s in store for my Captain’s Day this coming Saturday—both on and off the course! The Golf The main event will be a medal round for the Captain’s Prize—a chance to get your name on the honours board! For those who prefer, there will also be an alternative Stableford competition. Please note that while Stableford players will have their own prize table, they will not be eligible for the main prizes, which are reserved for the medal format. To keep things interesting, expect a few challenging pin positions—just to test your skills a little more! Supporting Les Bourgs Hospice As part of the day, I’d love to continue supporting my chosen charity, Les Bourgs Hospice. Before teeing off, I’m inviting all players to bring at least £5 in cash for the Captain’s Charity Chipping Challenge on the first tee. Everyone who completes the challenge will be entered into a draw to win up to £200, with the winner announced during the evening presentation. The Evening Prize giving will begin between 7:15 and 7:30pm. We’ll also be playing a few rounds of “Play Your Cards Right” throughout the evening, with a chance to win £50 of the Captain’s money. Tickets will be available to purchase, with all proceeds going to Les Bourgs Hospice. Food & Music We’ll be serving pulled pork rolls (BBQ and apple sauce options), and all I ask is for a generous donation to the charity in return. From 8:30 to 11:30pm, we’ll be enjoying live music from Cobo Cabana, so bring your dancing shoes! Dress Code All members and partners are warmly welcome—whether playing or not. This is a club celebration as much as a competition, so the more the merrier! Please note: bright, colourful clothes and shirts are mandatory in keeping with our Caribbean theme. These are FootJoy golf shirts and include an embroidered LGC logo and a Guernsey flag. Shirts are priced at £40 If you would like a shirt (or 2) please contact the office or speak with Iveta who will be pleased to help. Payment will be required on collection and can be made via cheque, bank transfer, cash or debit card behind the bar or at the office. LGC Club Cards cannot be used.
