Saturday Club Competitions 2026
Each Saturday competition is well supported with usually anywhere between 130 and 160 entrants.
The Bobby Eggo Trophy is awarded to the member who off scratch has performed the most consistently over the qualifying LGC competitive season. 10 Points are awarded to the winner, 9 for second, 8 for third place and so on down to 10th place who receives 1 point.
The Sandy Trophy is awarded to the member who has performed the most consistently over the qualifying LGC competitive season. 20 Points are awarded to the winner, 19 for second, 18 for third place and so on down to 20th place who receives 1 point. When a medal event is staged for the main honors and the Stableford option is taken, 10 points will be awarded to the winner, down to 1 point for the 10th placed competitor.
The Don Eker Trophy is much the same as the Sandy Trophy but is awarded to the most consistent competitive golfer over the age of 65 years.
An eclectic competition runs through the season. This is a nett and gross competition where competing members play multiple competition rounds and the best score on each hole is used to calculate an overall score. The final score is made up of the lowest score achieved on each hole, regardless of which round it was played in.
Biride 2's Leagues are available to enter. Leagues are put into Handicap Divisions (four leagues) with generous end of season winnings for top places in each respective league.
In LGC individual Strokeplay competitions there will be an option for playing male members to enter the competition and play off the YELLOW TEES or RED TEES in a Stableford format over the shortened course.
The aim is to promote competitive golf enjoyment for all whilst maintaining a handicap index and assist in the general speed of play.

When it comes to entering your score, there will be an option on the screen to enter a Men’s YELLOW / RED TEE Stableford card. If you have played or at least attempted to play the full round from the YELLOWS, use this option. A prize for the leading Yellow Tee score of 34 points or more will be made available.
The format of competitions is subject to change, dependent on weather and golf course conditions.

All other Competitions and The L'Ancresse Open
Throughout the year, the season is made even busier out with Inter-club competitions, golf charity days and team matches. Please see the Club Diary website tab for a full list of the coming season's LGC eligible fixtures.
The Club’s most coveted competition is “The L’Ancresse Open”, sponsored by Appleby. It is regarded as one of the most prestigious event in the Island’s golfing calendar. The event attracts golfers from all Bailiwick clubs, Jersey and overseas.
The event is held over the first Friday and Saturday in August. Friday being the team golf event and Saturday the singles medal round. Handicap restrictions do apply.

Little Black Dog Charity
Why the name? Because they are the first to die. Black dogs are just not popular in Spain, a very sad fact. However, we rescue dogs of all colours and breeds.
