I’ve had the best weekend of my Captains year so far hosting Walton Heath. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that great and on a soggy Saturday we played 20 matches and came out victorious with a score of 12.5 to 7.5.
We have not lost at home since 1998 long may this continue.
On Sunday we hosted La Grande Mare’s Golf Club in the Hampshire 7′s. We fielded a very strong side of Danny Bisson, Tim Carter, Steve Mahy, Tom Pattimore, Wayne Moore, Danny Blondel, and team Captain Jamie Blondel.
The Grande Mare have a good reputation in this competition so we did very well to win by 5 to 2. In the next round we will face either Alderney or Royal Guernsey.
I am very proud to say that we have raised the funds needed for the club defibrillator and it has been fitted to the wall alongside the main entrance to our club.
So a very big thank you to all of you for finding the funds for this valuable asset to our club.
A demonstration will take place on Sunday 28th May after the presentation and my monthly draw at about 1.00pm if you have any interest in saving somebody’s life please find the time and please come along.
I would like to personally welcome new members therefore if you see me about please introduce yourselves to me.
The picture shows myself holding the famous Muriel H Paul trophy which was handed over from Andy Voss, Walton Heath Captain.
